Eat Real Food
Real food is fairly simple to describe, anything that is not processed. Making matters easier think about the perimeter of the store (fruits, veggies, eggs, meats). 80/20. If you can eat well 80% of the time you will be in a good place. Also eat when you are hungry do not just eat to eat. For those of you who “diet” try and commit to one that is sustainable otherwise you will continue to put the weight back on.
Move more
Find time in your schedule to move more. The body works best in 90-minute increments. In between those bouts of work, go for a walk. Other movements that are beneficial are jogging, sprinting, jumping, lifting weights, stretching.
People don’t know how shitty their bodies feel until they start to feel good. Commit to moving each day to gain a better understanding of how your body feels daily.
Sleep More
We have all heard that we should be sleeping a minimum of 8 hours a night. Frankly that’s not feasible for everyone. Some people are best off of 6.5 hours of sleep, others need 9. Find what works best for you. What may be more important is being consistent about when you go to bed and when you wake up. Our bodies crave routine.
Have more/better sex
A pleasure we all crave and wish we had more of. It’s the reasons we workout, dress the way we do and present ourselves a certain way. Let’s be clear here we are all craving it. Sex can help lower blood pressure, increase immune health, decrease depression & anxiety as well as improve self-esteem. Godspeed!
Get more sunlight
Early and often. Try to get as much sun exposure you can daily. Sunlight has many benefits; strengthens bones, reduces depression/stress, helps anchor body’s internal clock for eating/metabolism and sets your circadian rhythm. If you are up before the sun working out, try and stay out and watch the sun rise. Likewise, if you can stay outside and watch the sunset you can help set your circadian rhythm to prepare for sleep.
Eliminate distractions
Despite everyone doing more, wanting more, and craving more, elimination can be a major player. What can you eliminate that is no longer providing you value or is causing you unnecessary stress? Instead of always tacking more on your to do list try and eliminate more and focus more on what brings you and others value.
